The international Common Data Elements (CDEs), previously known as the ‘National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) CDE Project, a project for TBI began in 2008 because of the importance of harmonizing research studies to enable meta-analysis and re-analysis of high quality clinical data. Hundreds of scientists and project managers have participated in the development and implementation of the CDEs, and ongoing efforts are managed by a steering committee and funding agency liaisons. The CDEs provide a data dictionary for the Federal Interagency TBI Research Informatics System. A list of the TBI CDEs, participants, publications and other relevant information is available at here.
